He had been trying to force people to troubleshoot things in ways that won't produce solutions as opposed to taking logical steps to approach problem solving. This encroached into my arena with the network, too.

Like... If someone had recurring problems printing, then he would have the desktop support guys replace their laptops. We set up a site in China, and the great firewall of China is known to cause connectivity issues for regular internet connections where the connection goes outside of China... He's been having me troubleshoot this crap for months.

He's also had a few ridiculous suggestions that I've had to shut down because they won't work at all.

Nice guy, but he tries to use his authority to force people to do things in areas where he doesn't really know what he's talking about.
