I didn't use one for a while. Had a ceiling fan to sleep with that was good.

Missouri, fuck no. I need my HVAC.
The temperature range is -40 to 120 around here. Sometimes in the same month.

Weather in the plains is pretty fucked up.

Well i am from California but have never used the HVAC system in my house. It uses up a lot of energy and i grew up dirt poor, so im used to using a simple room fan for summer and dress up in layers for winter.

Fans can only do so much. when it gets to the high 90s+ a fan blowing hot air isn't going to do much for me.

Too fucking hot for that.

I wasn't designed to deal with hot and humid weather with a mere fan.

Grew up in Missouri. Now live in Southern Arizona.

Yeah no. Ac is necessary.

In AZ it's actually now illegal for power companies to shut off your power in the summer months because people can easily die.

Nope, AZ native, gotta have it. Especially in the summer.

I always keep my house at 77 or lower. Idc how expensive it is, I have to live a certain way.

It's pretty expensive to go lower than 78 here in AZ.

I keep mine at 79 but it's right above my bedroom so it's fine.

Yeah... I know SRP gives us peak/off times for power usage but I usually disregard that when it comes to the summer months. I am mindful of it if I'm not at home, though.

I always turn my AC up to 80/81 when I leave the house.

My house is on one of those flat rate srp plans. Where you end up paying the same rate year round, which helps in summer, but if you use high energy stuff during the peak times for that season, it costs more.

I got a talking to recently for using the washer and dryer during peak hours because I had no clean undies for work that night.

Can't. I'd die of heat stroke. We have to turn on the HVAC in the Spring, otherwise Rial gets sick pretty quick. Guaranteed heat rash in the summer, even keeping my back clean and cool and covered in powder.

I've never had A/C since moving out of my parents. It gets hot here sometimes but a fan works just fine for when I'm chilling on the couch or sleeping.
