How many cars have you owned/leased in your life? On average, how often do you get a new one?

I just totaled my car of 15 years and am finally replacing it with a new one. The guys at the dealership were like O_O when I told them how long I held on to my car and only upgraded cause I didn't have a choice.

I drove my first car for 11 years, and have had my current car for a little more than 2 years now.

I only change when I have to, but I put a lot of work into my cars usually so that might skew things.

Ive had 5 total cars. First was a POS my dad got me from an auction for $700. Then bought myself a new car a few years later and sold that to my sister before I moved to the US. The last 3 have been leases. I like driving newer cars and I dont care if people think its a waste of money.

I get a new car probably every 5 years now. I typically buy used but I did lease for awhile.

My first vehicle was a 2001 Dodge Durango

2004 Dodge Dakota

1998 VW Jetta GT(totally Fast and the furiousd this one. Black and blue paint, twin turbo and all that shit. Crashed it on I94 at about 90mph)

2005 Trailblazer

2006 Porsche Boxster with a fake 2002 Nissan Skyline GTR34 body. Wish it was a real Skyline but I couldnt afford one and I saw this for sale for 33k.

2006 Yukon Denali

2005 Mercedes SL500, sold 3 years ago

1969 Dodge Charger RT, project car I never finished

2009 Mercedes SL550, current daily driver

2010 Ford F-350, my hunting/Home Depot truck

1967 Shelby GT500, project car I will absolutely finish

I've only owned two. Neither one was new, but I got my second one from a dealership after my first couldn't go anymore.

I am still driving a 2001 accord that runs pretty well. I didn't buy it new but have had it for at least 10 years now.

I'm looking at cars to get something new(er) but can't make up my mind on anything. New or used? Finance or lease if new? Truck or coupe? I keep changing my mind on everything.

Had sort of accepted the idea of leasing a Mustang GT but then starting thinking of buying a Sierra or some other truck and now I'm back to thinking I should spend less than 20k on a used coupe. Is it a terrible idea to get a used 228i?

I have no idea what to do and feel like no matter what I do I'm going to hate it because I have gone so long without having a car payment.
