I got the megaman x collection for ps4 recently and I started playing it today. I've never played Mega Man before so I sucked so much that I can't even get through the first stage. The part with the robot bees that drop mines always kills me. I can't kill them because they fly too high up and the fact that the ground collapses around that area makes it hard to figure out what I should do

When the ground collapses, there is literally only one direction to go.

In that part after the ground collapses, the bees are flying overhead on the pillar that you're standing on. If you stay still then they'll drop mines on you. But if you jump then you'll hit them, get damaged, and fall. You can't recover with the wall jump because they keep dropping bombs on you.

Oh shit, that's the problem. Charge shots are more efficient. The default buster shot should almost always be charged.

Normally I hate this shit but MMX is such an easy game to get good at, lol. Just remember that you can charge your shot & jump off walls in the intro stage, start with Chill Penguin when you get to the stage select, and maybe look up a recommended boss order if youre still nervous TC.

Yep. Hold the shoot button at all times when not actively shooting. You should always have a shot charged. The full blast deals double damage and passes through weaker enemies to destroy multiple targets.

Also, when you obtain the leg armor from chill penguin's stage, familiarize yourself with dash jumping. Either jump during a dash, or press the dash and jump buttons at the same time while moving left or right to get a super jump. It works off walls, too, and is essential for some of the harder fights.

My advice would be to assign dash and shoot to shoulder buttons. I can only assume it plays similarly to the PS2 version, in which case I would absolutely not advocate for using default controls.

I was gonna say try doing the levels in a different order (beating certain levels causes noticeable changes in certain other levels) but it sounds like you're stuck on the opening level.

Yikes.

Anyway, just a heads up, the boss at the end of that level is supposed to beat you no matter what you do so don't get frustrated when he wrecks you
