Let me give you some background. Im black. I grew up in Mississippi but I live in Georgia now. My parents was big time Dems. Never voted against the party. Im more open minded. I was going to register as an independent when I was 18 but I realized I cant vote in primaries. So I just did what my parents did and went with Democrat. My first 2 elections were both Obama ejections. I voted for Obama simply because he was black. I got to make history and I got to put my race in the White House. I didnt give it a second thought the first time.

I gave it a lot of thought when Obama was running against Romney but I still voted Obama. I think I voted for him simply because he was black tbh. Trump vs Clinton was my first real election I put a lot of thought in. I was one of those people that didnt vote. I know Ill get hate for that.

Now Im planning on going to a Republican meeting. I dont know what to expect. I never been to a political meeting and it isnt like I know any Republicans that actually talk politics. So my interaction is very little. I know TV likes to paint them as monsters but I know the vast majority are probably just normal people.

I guess Im a little scared because Im black going to a Republican meeting in Georgia when I probably shouldnt be. What should I expect?

They will suck up to you for being a black person they can point to to prove they aren't racist unless you give them the slightest hint you don't agree with their policies. Then the racism will come out.

You guys keep saying that but I think it will be the opposite. I think they will just go over the top with flattery and such to bring more people into the fold. I remember a black chick a while ago saying she supported Trump. She started a gofundme for some financial help and made a killing just because she was pro Trump. Later it came out she was lying about that. No idea what happened after that

As for the meeting, it's hard to say but really it depends on the group itself. It could be a nice potluck or it could be a klan/nazi rally.

I think I have a friend like that. Apparently she posts a lot of... questionable.. things on Facebook but she acts like we are good friends. Im not on Facebook but a friend of mine is and she acts like she is best friends with her. Its strange.
