I'm not nervous with either. I'm used to being the only one of my race in groups, and I grew up with only siblings of the opposite gender.

neither done both. Take it one further only person in the room who spoke English as their first language. Some others spoke it but was clear it wasnt their first language.

Im white but several of the jobs ive had whites where the minority.

I'm usually not totally comfortable around people at all so the last option is out. But being a minority I've long since gotten used to being the only one of my race in a group, while I'm certainly not comfortable around groups of women due to being keyblader.

I was the only male AND the only non-white person in the room many times. Its not THAT big a deal in a neutral environment like that.

In my workplace there's a wild gender imbalance and most of the time I'm the only male on the team or in meetings. I've had African in-laws, so whenever we visited her side of the family I was used to being the only white.

Eh, I dunno...being in both situations at various points in my life, it really depends on the environment. As a gamer, I'm usually the only person of 'color' around, so in those situations I'm ok. As for females, as long as they aren't the catty/gossipy types I would probably be cool.

Does that other race speak my language? If not, I'd probably feel awkward. It also depends where I am. There are tons of countries I'd feel unsafe in. The vast majority of them, really.
