they are not the same thing. is english not your first language? Britain is the country. British is a person who is from Britain. same as America and and American. or Japan and Japanese. British people, live in Britain

those are just other names for Britain. I think Great Britain refers to the collection of England, Scotland and Wales, making up the main british island. United Kingdom is the actual official name for the nation. it refers to

England
Scotland
Wales
Northern Ireland

all the different member countries that are part of the nation of the United Kingdom.
