Cant they just stick with one job for life?

People ask me all the time why Im on the same entry level job for 9 straight years....and its because I like it. I work minimum wage and gonna keep it up until 65.

Its like a video game, some people stay in bronze, or some people stay playing always on very easy. Thats me, playing on very easy. I dont like to work too hard and just do the very bare minimum. I barely even do any actual work I just goof off

Career progression is a good thing, imo.

When you start making more money, you can afford to do more things in life. Having money saved up in case of emergencies is great.

Well I dont post that often and that must be crazy seeing is there are a hundred thousands posters. Ive always had a job and love it! Im the nicest person youll meet and very very accepting!

Level of ambition may vary, but I think most people want to make enough that they feel comfortable and prepared. Minimum wage probably won't do it for most, but maybe a few.

There was a time where I wanted to move up the corporate ladder. Become a supervisor, manager, director and vp. Applied for jobs that I felt went really well just to find out that somebody's uncle, niece, nephew, brother, cousin etc got the job. Got tired of the politics. I was bitter at first but I'm over it. I'm content to stay where I'm at.

Too much effort. People never go to work to put it effort.

They go to clock in, browse the internet. Take a long lunch break, browse the internet. And clock out at 5

Working hard at the right things has been very rewarding for me. I used to be in entry level jobs for years and didn't care too much. Once I started getting Cisco certs, moving up in the IT world, and became a network engineer, I've been living a much better life overall.

My job is a lot more responsibility than I'd have if I still did tech support, but my work is far more rewarding. I've got major career accomplishments that I can hang my hat on and certifications that I've gained. The certs not only help me do my job better, but allow me to demand more money from employers.
