Can't remember what they did to Ozzie and Flea, but they're named after rock icons ffs, and should have attitudes to match. I've heard the DS version is closer to the original intent, and if true, it's not a good justification, and shows that the Woosley-era localization was a net positive. For perspective, I thought the FF6 retranslation was quite good, even though it sacrificed my namesake Master Pug and other original names I quite liked in favor of franchise homogenization. "hurr durr hes a frog so let's make him talk funny" Changing certain lines because they're hard to translate and/or don't carry over into English well is one thing; changing an entire character's dialect and thus personality is unacceptable.
