It has the same art style as BOTW and theyre reusing assets from that game, so that already sounds a little unappealing to me

Specifically, the Legend of Zelda series' director, Eiji Aonuma, has told IGN that one of the development team's inspirations for the sequel was Red Dead Redemption 2. Responding to a question about which games were inspiring the team's younger members, Aonuma replied, "[Something] I did hear that a lot of people were playing was Red Dead Redemption 2."

Later, Aonuma told of the wider team's inspirations: "When I was working on Breath of the Wild, the director [Hidemaro Fujibayashi] was playing Skyrim."

It sounds like it will effectively be very much more of the same. Whether that is a good or a bad thing will depend on how you viewed the original.

I would like more traditional dungeons, but other than that I'm happy for more of the same by and large.

Is it true that they're just using the same map? Wtf?

tbf, the map is already massive and diverse with its environments, so if they maybe improve on the gameplay and add some notable locations, that's good enough, IMO.

Hard to take a dark tone seriously with those cartoon graphics. Majora would not have felt so eerie if it were a cartoon too

a game is more than just its map, and we don't know what will be added, or how pre-existing assets will be utilized.

Most of the trailer takes place underground so its possible that there will be a ton of underground to explore

People apparently loved wandering around the mostly empty and repetitive giant map for 100+ hours...so here's 100 more hours of doing that.

It's what the people demanded.

I've played it for something like 100 hours, and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best games of the last 5 years.
