The moderation system is infamous because its Kafka-esque rules allows the mods to be extremely inconsistent. Some mods are like robots and will mod like the TOU was the Bible; for example, it's possible to get modded for quoting a flame directed at you because the TOU says not to repost violations. On the other side of the spectrum, you have mods often veteran ones that are actually smart and look at the context of posts. A mod on this side will not mod you for quoting a flame directed at you (usually). Because of the inconsistencies, there are many users who are confused and/or annoyed that they got modded for something and everyone else isn't for the same thing no matter how many posts they mark. The moderation system is also infamous for dealing strictly with minor infractions, but being extremely tolerant of trolls (perhaps because of the difficulty in distinguishing between trolls pretending to be idiots and people who really are that stupid).

I agreed, quoted the user, and said "Yes, soccer is for sissies"

Modded for flaming? Sure, I'll agree to that. But trolling? All because I didn't bring up another point to add to the debate? Agreeing is wrong on CE.

The mods and people who mark posts like to setup strawman and knock them down. "by saying X you are saying Y"....and what's worse is that I posted the same thing again but made sure to clarify that I didn't mean what the mods had misinterpreted my post to mean. And then I got modded and suspended lol. It's like...wow.

It's just...I don't even know what to say at this point. Just forget about it and move on. This place has rules enforcement issues that are not going to be addressed.

The mods are actually super lenient compared to other fourms I'd say. The same problem users almost never lose their account for good if it's a decently aged one.

Oh sure you'll get warned or suspended, even purged. But almost never banned. You can be suspended multiple times, and they'll still say "You're welcome to come back".

I don't think they even KoS anymore. Really, you have to be actively awful to get suspended on Gamefaqs these days.

Look I'll be the first to say the mods here are pretty awful at their jobs. You're right, the consistency with the ToS is no good. However, when users are breaking the ToS they should be called out on it as well. BOTH SIDES
