They stated in an earlier Direct that you have to beat those huge Kaiju Pokemon in order to unlock them as regular pokemon. It seems like a huge aspect of the game is beating these huge pokemon bosses to unlock Pokemon. It kind of defeats the purpose to the game if you could just transfer your favorites over.

And for those who think it should be unlockable or patched in later, maybe it will.

In Sun and Moon, you couldn't transfer other Pokemon into the game until months later.
