Like, this person refuses to use any deception of any kind involving anyone. They don't have to give up secrets just cause they're asked or anything crazy like that tho. They just won't use deception when it would obviously work in the US's advantage

What example are these that deception would obviously work in the US's advantage exactly?

Drump in a situation where deception is better makes it way obvious he is trying to deceive because that is all he does, so it doesn't really work.

So yes a completely straight leader would be much much more ideal, because it raises integrity, trust, respect, hope and just about every other good quality. Not sure when these obvious situations where deception is better is.

The economy is strong, GDP growth is up, unemployment is at record lows, the stock market is at record highs, the workforce participation rate is going up again, take home income is up, taxes are down, exactly WHAT IS IT that you guys think is so terrible? I feel like the deception that is necessary isn't communicated directly to us. But you gotta think with leaders like Kim and Putin there HAS to be moments where deception is completely necessary.

Well there is a difference between not divulging information and deception. As long as secrets that need to be kept are then the leader would have a strong hand. That's why actual deception is kept to spies and trained officers who handle national security not leaders who obviously aren't trained at all much.

Given the situation we find ourselves in now though the best remedy would be a leader that is completely straight. Even if you believe there should be some kind of balance some where that only make sense.
