I had a panic attack during a random hookup where I couldn't really move or talk. Therefore I didn't say no to him putting it in me and finishing inside despite not knowing his STD status.

Seven days after that I started getting flu like symptoms, which tends to be what happens when someone gets HIV.

It's really unlikely that I have it, but I've been worrying a lot and need to get tested in order to quell my fears.

Well hopefully you didnt get pozzed, but if you did there are plenty of meds out there to treat the HIV and keep it down. Even 10 years ago some of those meds cost thousands for a month supply, now its down in the hundreds. Some nearly totally insured.

My "flu symptoms" are feeling a lot better. Hopefully that's a sign that I'm negative.

I swear if I'm neg I'm going to have a new lease on life.... including probably never having sex again (At least, NEVER without protection. Need to fight through a panic attack if it occurs again at such a crucial moment.)

Sorry, but are you male or female? HIV isn't the only concern after unprotected sex, nor the only one that causes "flu-like symptoms" (though one week would be very, very early). I wasn't aware of that at all, actually.

he was getting it on with another guy without a condom and had a panic attack and the guy finished inside him. i take it when you have certain types of panic attacks you sort of go through temporary paralysis of some kind.

I'm male, so higher risk for hiv than anything else. Yeah, I'm aware that I could have gotten other STDs, I'm actually getting a full screening. I guess HIV is the only one I'm really worried about since the symptoms matched up so well.

And yeah, I realize one week is super early too (it's usually 2-6 weeks iirc) but I just got really paranoid because of the symptoms matching up...

I made a topic last week -- this guy was sketchy as hell and I was horribly repulsed by him. The whole thing was a nightmare and it caused me to panic and not really be able to think about anything. So when he did it and didn't put a condom on, I was too panicked to say no. In reality, I should have just left his house from the beginning -- I was already turned off by the way he was acting, but his house looked like a disaster and he was just hella creepy. Afterwards I felt so disgusting, I was putting sanitizer all over myself and spitting into cups, washing my mouth out with water that was in the car, etc. He seemed like someone who has had a LOT of sex due to his skill level, so it made me worried.

It's likely that I'm just freaking out and that these are psychosomatic symptoms, but if they ARE symptoms of HIV seroconversion, it should be detected.

If you're in a situation like that where you could potentially get HIV and panic attack yourself into unsafe situations, you may want to actually deal with that FIRST, and then enjoy consensual sex.

Cause this entire situation seems real easily avoided. You need to work on you.
