The Force powers look like this game's strong point though.

Force Lightning probably won't be usable. Under Disney, Dark side powers are exclusive only to Dark Jedi/Sith.

Force choking a stormtrooper and then flinging his corpse off a cliff is great fun though.

Don't understand why people want guns in a Jedi focused game. Go play a battlefront game or one of the 100000 generic shooters out there.

Cuz it's fun to slice a stormtrooper and then pull out a rocket launcher and blow up a group nearby. Why the fuck wouldn't you want more variety

This. You're still going to use the lightsaber 90% of the time. But a combination of that, guns, and the Force lets you do some cool things. I think you need the variety of the Jedi Knight games to make it truly worth it though. Like just giving the character a backup blaster pistol would make sense, but it would ultimately be a bit pointless.

Yet another Star Wars game that fails to have enemies scream as they plummet to their deaths.

Force Unleashed didn't do it and this game doesn't appear to do it either.

Outcast and Academy were the only SW games to get this right.

Shadows of the Empire has the Wilhelm Scream, but only certain enemies could be forced off cliffs iirc. Definitely one of them at the beginning of the canyon

I actually started a Jedi Academy playthrough months ago and decided I'd try using the guns and other weapons a bit more. I should probably resume that. I'm curious how later missions will play out since the game starts throwing tons of Dark Jedi at you.

Outcast was great, it was just made in that weird FPS transition phase where you had to fetch keys to open doors, but still had a bit of freedom in roaming around.
