I'm tired of seeing douchebags thinking they're hot shit for rack pulling +405lbs and destroying the barbells in the gym by bending them.

Rack pulls destroys barbells unless they're done on boxes.

When you do them in a rack you're putting a whole lot of pressure on the bar itself instead of the plates

It's a shit exercise

These dudes are bending Texas Strength barbells which are some of the best you find in commercial gyms. They're good bars.

The bar bending when doing a lift is normal, they're supposed to bend, Hell every fucking solid object on this planet bends. Holding a barbell with 800lbs on it will have a great amount of bending but it will not hit its yield strength.

The problem with rack pulls is the bar itself is dropped onto pins, which creates a strong impulse which is a shit load more force applied over an incredibly short amount of time. At that point the bar is not just bending but it stays bent.

How are they destroying the barbells? (Don't get me wrong, I train at home and don't rack pull 405, but when I do rack pulls, they don't damage any of my equipment.)

Or are you just mad that they act like they're strong, but 405 is nothing to you, so you just think you're superior to them?

This topic is difficult to understand, dude...

At 405 pounds? That sounds unlikely, unless the gym equipment is trash.

I remember when Buff Dudes did that video and showed it takes like 1400 lbs to break a barbell or something.

Ultimate strength =/= yield strength

And not all barbells are created equal
