Actually, I don't think she was there, understandably. She's on the campaign trail. Markey was. Healey was. Walsh was.

Best part, Todrick Hall was there. That was an unexpected surprise. Government Center was flooded. Absolutely flooded.

i didn't even realize it was today and i was walking around noticing more people around than usual even on a saturday for major people but the tons of people with rainbow colored stuff made it obvious

I feel some groups tried to make it less sexual, while others kept it sexual. Things I noticed:

- Of all the handouts paraders gave, I never once got condoms or lube. I did last year.
- I did not see the booth giving out free dildos and sex eggs this year.

- I did see a lot of people walking around in bondage clothes with leather dog masks, about 70% naked.
- I did see people with the foreskin group, walking around with red blood stains between their legs on their pants.
- I saw some women in the parade with nothing on their tops but pasties.

So I mean.... take that as you will. Mostly, nah. It depended on the group IMO.

My statement about the whole event:

Pride was lovely this year! I went with my mother and my brother. Saw a bunch of you there! (Names Redacted).... great seeing you all! Seeing Pride really makes you happy to feel that energy.

I was on Berkeley Street watching from that area between FiRE+iCE. The parade completely energized me to the point that I would dance as the parade would be coming by, and people in the parade would laugh. Some would dance in the parade facing me as if we were clubbing together, and I'd challenge that dance. I know for a fact the parade energized me, and I energized many marching to get more energetic. It was..... sooooo damn awesome!

One thing I want to say. I saw more youth (primarily school GSAs) and Elderly care services marching. Fuck yeah and go those groups! I was blown away. I love love love love love seeing organizations supporting the elderly and the youth, especially since many tend to ignore the elders and youth are often black sheep'd. I felt that these groups have a real unity in this state, and while not perfect, we have grown a LOT this year! GO ALL OF YOU!

One last thing that made me tear up a little. As someone who is trying to get more involved with the Asian countries (Since I want to learn Japanese, and hopefully Chinese some time after), seeing Taiwan and Thailand there made me happy. Taiwan moreso because they just legalized gay marriage. It was so cool seeing Taiwanese people here, in Boston, celebrating with us and seeing them show the pride they have of their country (but don't tell China this) of being the first in all of ASIA that has legalized gay marriage. This was .... moving. I couldn't feel happier for Taiwan.

Pride is a magnificent event, and I hope ALL of these groups return next year, and maybe Boston should start the march earlier, so everyone marching can get to government center and enjoy the festivities as well (poor people at the end of the parade) .... Other than that, I cannot wait until next year. This was so fucking amazing.

Yeah, I posted this elsewhere. It was a great event this year. I did however, have a random guy at night walking around with my brother and mother randomly who seemed to be subtly/not so subtly trying to hit on me. That was probably the only awkward/ehhhhhhh event.

You should. I have so much fun. The parade started at 12N. I stayed at the parade's side until 4PM and the thing was STILL going. I had to go to Government Center before they shut things down, and I didn't want to miss Todrick Hall. I have no idea how much longer the Parade went on for after that, but man, I got wild.

Best part was, one group gave me a whistle, so I used it a lot. Two people had boxes of snacks. One was giving out fritos, then the next gave out smart food popcorn. When I saw the smart food, I started freaking out with my whistle, the woman giving them out laughed and was like "OKAY OKAY, TAKE THEM ALL!" and gave my brother like 5 bags of them. xD .... That was so freaking hilarious.

What I mean is that I'd get warned on GameFAQs if I posted pictures of many of the outfits and actions at NYC's pride parades in the village.

I'm hoping the Boston one is less about glorifying sex fetishes and more about just celebrating pride in a family-friendly manner.

Again, I posted the basics of it above. The topless women were a bit much. The blood on the pants were awkward, but I suppose not revealing (althrough they walked around with blow-up penises) ... and the bondage people with dog masks didn't exactly have anything visual. Just yeah, it was fetish wear.

The thing is, people join the parade because they are proud to be who they are, and of what they like. People cheering the parade on support anyone who marches, as long as there isn't support of harm towards other human beings, which none of these groups support. To be fair when you think about it, humanity stigmatized sexuality and without our societal growth towards modesty, sexual body parts would never even be stigmatized from the beginning. They are parts of who we are. For that reason, I mean..... I see why people support it. It's a battle of social stigmatics versus things we have naturally and some people just wish to have be NOT stigmatized. (Like the topless movement.)

I am a complete and utter prude, but I try to look at it on both ends here. I personally rather not look at people's naked or mostly naked bodies anywhere in public, except maybe at the beach in bikinis, but let's be honest. Beach goers are often more skimpy in clothing than the majority of pride is. There are some who push the bars, but it isn't like highly-revealing isn't accepted.... in some public places.

Your terms are ridiculous. I wouldn't attend any other event with my family where people are wearing gimp masks and being lead along on dog leashes either. My gay friends that arent tapped in the head are understanding of this.

Now, if this was a pride event that was 18+, sure I would attend that with my friends and/or wife.
