We only got to play conventional dodgeball like once when I was in elementary school because some kid got a broken nose and his mother complained to the board of education

Other than that we played something called Clean Up Your Room where we had dodge balls but the objective was to throw the balls to the other side and not hit anyone, & whichever side had the least amount of balls won.

So to sum it up, these professors sucked at dodge ball and want to take it away from everyone else.

I disagree. I was kind and gentle but I've always had great reflexes so I was pretty good at dodgeball. I didn't throw as hard as some other kids but I would make difficult catches. We had a version we played on a basketball court where you would get a teammate back from the sidelines of you hit the backboard or rim and if you got it in the hoop, all sidelined teammates came back. There were several times where my team won after I got people back when I was the only one left.

There was also one time when this girl tried to get fancy and do a jumping split to dodge a ball I threw at her and it ended up hitting her right in the vagina. That was pretty funny.

Sometimes people of authority say stupid shit or have stupid opinions, just because they are teachers doesn't mean everyone who studies under them will believe everything they say. Ya'll need to stop with the fake outrage over shit like this all the time.

See, this is where I'd argue you're missing the forest for the trees. Nobody gives a shit about dodgeball. The concern is applying arguments of oppression, privilege, being against competition, framing the situation as a "kind gentle child" versus a "bully", etc arguments to something as simple as dodgeball. If you take every argument like this and make it about the subject, then sure it looks like an endless series of random incidents about unrelated topics, but that's either a deflection or a misunderstanding of the actual concern, which is a particular way of thinking and a particular way of arguing and framing problems to make anything one of hierarchical power struggles. THAT is the thing I disagree with and the thing I'd wager Addy is harping on. It's trying to argue that dodgeball is an "oppressive, militaristic enemy of liberal democracy that reinforces harmful behavior" that is the problem. Not that it's dodgeball. It's being concerned that there is a nontrivial contingent of academia that is raising a generation to look at everything through this lens, and dodgeball is just one more example of how that way of reasoning is being applied.

Yes, I had professors say stupid shit.
No, I didn't take it all to heart like it was completely true.

That doesn't mean nobody else took it to heart.
That doesn't justify the continued use of these classroom arguments.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't openly criticize bad lines of reasoning.

If you really want to take the angle of "we should openly accept professors saying stupid shit like they're facts because some people will see through it" then go right ahead. That isn't an argument against people saying this is happening too often, and its not good, and we should criticize it.
