I made an anonymous sugar daddy account, mostly because I thought it would be interesting to see how women act on there. I once made a fake okcupid account years ago, and posed as a female to see what they deal with on a daily basis. I'm very into understanding these types of "social stigma'd" cultures, if you will.

After getting my picture and account approved (4 hours ago) I already have 5 messages. I've been "Favorited" about 30 times. Here is what some of the profiles (sugar babies) say

I'm looking for a SB/SD type relationship that is mutually beneficial. An emotional connection is preferred but not at all necessarily. Ideally, I would like an SD that can provide mentorship. Also, a sense of humor is a must! I'm open to platonic or non-platonic relationships as well. Financial help is also very much appreciated!

Idk about any one else, but I love psychology, which is why I'm interested. I do marketing, and its basically a requirement to be able to understand deep nuances. Sure you can say, " the girls just want money", but there is a deeper level you can reach if you look.

Don't even get me started.... if I made 2 accounts in my area, I'll see 2 different groups of women. Yet none of them will be the same, and I can't view any of them on the other profile. Random times women will just drop out. They aren't hiding their profile, they just can't be seen. I know this because I had one of my friends as an okcupid profile just randomly disappear, unable to contact one another.

It serves as an incentive to get you to go Premium. Stupid, yes, but that's how they make money.

Match.com is worse, though. You actually have to upgrade just to send messages. Communication should already be a given. It's how you connect and see if you're really compatible or not, but nope, you have to pay money just to chat with a potential mate.

The only rational purpose I see from this is so that people (especially girls) don't get spammed with unwanted or unsolicited messages on a daily basis.

Even then, what is the likelihood that someone you Liked (or Favorited) returns the favor? I barely get Likes as it is so it seems like messaging women there is a wasted effort.

You can still send messages, they just won't see them in the traditional inbox. You only see messages from people you haven't liked when their profile comes up in the swipe left/right screen.
