I mean...

I didn't enlist because I didn't want to spend years of my life in the desert. Of all the areas where I feel I can throw stones at Trump, this isn't one of them. (Had there been a draft, and had my number been called, I would've gone.)

Edit: Actually, what the fuck am I saying? Yes, I can take shots at this piece of shit. I didn't enlist, but I still held a respect for those who did. Remember when he took verbal shots at McCain by saying he preferred soldiers who didn't get captured? Fuck Trump.

I also had a dog to take care of. She was a factor too. I'm pretty ashamed of myself for not going. I do miss that dog though. Yesterday would've been her birthday.

If a large scale war broke out, I'd be willing to enlist in the air force. I think I could qualify for that with about five or six months of physical training. I didn't feel bad about not enlisting until my grandfather died. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks that I should have.

I honestly can't be mad at Trump for not wanting to go to Vietnam, it was a stupid war.

Someone already mentioned Muhammad Ali and I agree. Muhammad is a fucking hero for giving up his world title and tanking his reputation and popularity just because he knew people were dying for no real reason.

The only thing about Trump's draft dodging that gets me is

1. When he downplays John McCain's war efforts despite bitching out.

2. When he brags about how he would take down mass shooters if he was there.

To my knowledge Muhammad Ali never talked shit about the Soldiers who did go, let alone ones who were tortured.

Thing about hypocrisy is that no one gives a shit. Jon Stewart spent a decade and a half pointing out hypocrisy, and at the end of that time Donald Trump took office with Republican majorities in both houses of congress.
