November 15th release.
Really disappointing Direct. Looks about as generic as ever, with a friendly rival and everything. Dynamax Pokemon seem like a pointless addition. Dynamax looks extremely lame. Why do we have to have a different battle gimmick each gen? Why couldn't they just improve what was already there?
Besides that... I'm more optimistic about this game than I was before. The pokemon designs so far are great, the stadiums are a neat take on gyms, and the more open areas with overworld pokemon look fantastic. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah apparently growing gigantic is a canon thing now and all Pokemon can do it once per battle for 3 turns making it really strong. I don't know how I feel. I just don't like the designs. It feels like the art style for the new pokemon is radically different than all the previous generations. Looking at old pokemon beside the new ones is jarring.

Looks like there is a lot of pop-in assets and the textures look so bland/muddy. The environments look super empty also. If Nintendo can make BotW look beautiful with such a large world they can definitely do it for Pokemon. ... Copied to Clipboard!
