Current Events > 1 week until a 14 day beach vacation in Thailand. Going to Koh Samui and Koh Tao

Rented this awesome villa about 100 meters from the beach in Koh Samui. 3 bedrooms with a private pool. Costs like $80/night. Going to spend a week there.

After that we will go to Koh Tao for a couple days and maybe Koh Phangan.

After 1 year of living in China (as of June 9th), I really need this vacation. Just going to smoke blunts, chill at the pool/beach and fuck all day. Can't wait.

I've been to koh samui. It was nice but compared to other places I've been in South East Asia it was very westernized and the beaches were quite gritty.

Thailand is a place I really want to check off my travel list.

Though sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who generally hates to "relax" on vacation. At the end of the day or maybe a break during the day I enjoy it, but I always want to be out exploring or doing stuff. Not long ago I went with a group of friends to St. Lucia and I wanted to climb the Piton mountains. It easily could have been considered a bucket list climb, but I couldn't get anyone to do it with me. Generally I have no problem doing stuff like that alone, but it was highly recommended to have someone else with you for that one.

IDK. Just lounging around all day isn't fun for me.

I've travelled nearly the entirety of Thailand, only major island I haven't been to is Samui (though have been to Phangan and Tao numerous times). We've chosen Samui because the Andaman Sea side will be in the rainy season while the Gulf side should have fairly good weather and because the accommodation is really cheap for what you get. We can also drive there with the truck from Hat Yai which will give us a vehicle while on the island as well.

I've done the whole backpacking thing quite extensively all throughout Southeast/East Asia, I'm now just looking for the lounge around all day kind of vacation.
