reporters just do not care anymore. they think it's harmless to spoil things. or they think it's funny.

the worst most pointless one I ever heard of I didn't experience myself, but I saw an account of it on gamefaqs. someone was in a bus or train station and the radio was playing music over the intercom. and then a dj comes on and says something like

"so yea apparently *MASSIVE GAME OF THRONES FINALE SPOILERS* I don't watch the show but it sounds weird...I don't know whatever....anyway, back to the music. your listening to such and such station"

and this was the next morning from the finale. it hadn't even been 12 hours yet. I would have been so mad if I hadn't seen it yet and was in that station.

It aired in 4 markets, small ones at that. So I think it aired in about 800k households. So you're not counting major markets like NY and LA.
