I mean Google has a better phone with a headphone jack for $400 than the XR.

OnePlus has a better screen, battery, and OS for $700 for anything else.

Defaulting to Samsung just shows how little you even know about any phone out right now lol

Lol, the Pixel 3A is low budget at best. Specs slightly above the Pixel 1. I had it for a week before I dumped it.

The S9 was on sale during that same time for $350 and is leagues better than anything at that price range. In electronics, it's always best to wait for clearances versus sales. Ain't nobody giving out more than they're worth at retail prices. So a $700 OnePlus that retails for $700 is a horrible buy compared to looking for a sale for the S10 for around the same price or going for a S9.

This is if you're going all out and purchasing outright. If you have service with one of the 4 major carriers, then the deals for the Galaxy phones and iPhones are routinely had for half price or less with bill credits. Since Apple and Samsung are the only ones that offer this 99% of the time over anyone else besides maybe Google, in which case they've had the Pixel 3 for $400 or lower several times. Motorola might have some good deals on the very lower end, but that's about it. LG should not be trusted at all after their fuck ups.

So no, you're never getting a deal by going low or mid-budget. It's just a marketing trick to fool people who think they're getting a deal.

Btw, iTunes is just being rebranded.

Geekbench widely leans Apple because it's just a pure spec sheet number which Qualcomm sucks ass at, yet if you look at any real-time benchmark such as, idk, 3d or Antutu it smashes the SE

No, it's not. I have used both side by side. Pixel 3A is a sluggish phone that gets stressed very fast. It's basically a rebranded mid-budget phone with specs from 2 years ago. The XR shits all over it, especially with page loads in Safari and Chrome.

Not sure why the SE is even being discussed. They were giving those out for like $60 almost 2 years ago. It is definitely inferior to the 3A, but the 3A is a rip off at $400. And as I mentioned, it's not hard to score an XR for $350 with the 4 carriers. Or less, like with an old trade in, it's free with T-Mobile.

Nobody thinks Samsung owners are broke bitches

I just don't see how the XS/XS Max is considered excessive/wasteful when you have crazy cats out here's dropping nearly double on an experimental phone (Galaxy Fold) or only saving $200-300 on the latest flagship in comparison (S10/S10+)

I'm not buying a Model 3 if I want an SUV just because the Model 3 is a few bucks less.

i wanted a big phone so i was eyeing the XS Max. base model starts at over $1k with 64gb of non-expandable storage, so if I wanted anything with decent storage size im dropping like $1200 on 256gb model. i ended up getting a base model note 9 instead for $700, so $500 cheaper, and that base model comes with 256gb of storage & is expandable as well.

i like iphones but honestly i dont know how ppl can justify the price these days, $500 is a massive difference when we are talking about phones in the $1,000~ msrp range

I was mostly referring to this year's flagships.

The S10 Plus is comparable to the XS Max and it's only $100 less. Sure storage is contestable but most people don't use more than 64 GB and therefore people max speccing the XS Max to its $1500 price point is dumb. That's like saying Macbook Pros cost $7K just because you can spec them up that high.

I've noticed how suddenly $999 became the "okay" price point because Samsung did it but suddenly $1100 is pushing it. If I want an Xbox One X I'm not gonna buy a PS4 with a bunch of games and accessories for the same price because at the end of the day it's still not an Xbox One X

That's just the beauty of expandable storage - all you need to do is purchase the base model version of the phone and then get the appropriate SD card you want. Top quality 512GB cards now can be had in the $100 range. Just think about that for a second.

Between the 128GB base storage I have and the 256GB card within, I have more space than I'll ever need.

i think most ppl have either just accepted that $1k is now the cost of a new phone or dont know how much they cost because they finance/lease it through the carrier and their bill is like magic to them. theres only like 3 companies that 99% of ppl buy their phones from so when apple says the new phone costs $1k, the other companies price their phones similarly to be competitive

Not sure why you would compare to 3 year old phone to a brand new phone but you're not doing yourself any favors. Ignoring pretty much all other advantages. A 6in display in the Pixel 3a to the iPhone SE's 4in is already a deal breaker worth a hundred or so dollars.
