I know he's considered a critical part of British history, but I barely remember learning about him at school. Interesting person with an interesting life story. Took very big balls to kill a sovereign, his own sovereign. Sad that only 2 years after his death, the monarchy was restored.
Is he well known to Americans, or not? I don't think people who know who he was would likely deny he was a very major figure, but British history isn't of interest to all, of course. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. Documentary on YouTube actually, originally shown on (I think) Channel 4 (UK). And why do people think me reading Wikipedia is really awful? Wikipedia is extremely information, since it, you know, practically contains all human knowledge.
