beetroot hummus with home made Roti flatbread made with oats

recipe is simple:
-dried chickpeas (or canned) but dried is apparently better
-beetroot
-ground cumin
-lemon
-salt
-2 cloves of garlic
-tahini
-olive oil

i use around 1/3 of my chickpea bag that means it is around 150gr of nuts. it produced quite alot i can only eat half and store them for tomorrow. you put the dried peas in water overnight, it will double in size.
i just boil the beet in a pan till it have cooked potato texture
boil the peas, i use a slow cooker method. basically put the nuts in crockpot, put water 3 centimeters above the peas, add some salt, a clove of garlic and put it on high for 3 to 4 hours.

drain the chickpeas. put it in food processor pour the peas, beet several tablespoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoon of salt, half a lemon juice, the ground cumin and a fresh clove of garlic. at least, add the tahini ( i use about 1 and half tablespoon). i add the a little water (the broth that's used to boil the chickpeas. maybe about 50ml of water)

finally just blend them together and check the texture if it reached the desired level of smoothness. i kinda like it a bit rough, but some people like it smooth kinda like peanut butter. add olive oil or water to adjust the firmness.

for the flat bread, you just need some oatmeal, salt and water

if you are using store brand instant oatmeal thing, it might not be fine enough. i use quaker oatmeal and put it in a food processor until it turn into powder. after that you make the dough. just add salt and hot water to the flour, add little by little until you get a solid-ish consistency that you can knead. just mix it with a spoon until it form a dough. wait a bit for the dough to settle then knead it for a bit. after that make a ball, take some parts, roll it with rolling pin. you just put the rolled circle to a hot pan. oil is opitional. i use around a cup of oatmeal it made those 4 pieces.

Nice. Note that i never really use exact numbers for the amount of ingredients, so i dont list it.

I just use insinct most of the time

Not made hummus yet. I dont like beets that much but id try it.

Beets alone is kinda meh for me too. Mixed, they are amazing.

Regulae hummus have always this this rough, sandy texture to them. The beets make them softer and creamier

I've learned to standardize recipes of such a nature because my girlfriend and mom cook the same way. If it happens any time soon, I'll post my conclusions.

it's surprisingly super easy. just youtube it and copy them. sure for the first time there are always things that went kinda wrong.

in my case i used a little bit too much salt and don't press it thin enough, but nothing to completely ruin the taste

The funny thing about hummus is that, as it comes in, it comes out
