I think it's also the first time I ever saw a Godzilla movie in the theater

There wasn't quite as much monster battles as i expected though.

That girl from Stranger Things was in it but I felt they didn't use her as much as they could have. Most of the movie she just follows adults around. She doesn't really do anything until the end

I heard critics were mad because there was too much monster fighting. But that makes me wonder if theyve ever seen Godzilla movies. Or if they knew the title of the movie before going in. Or saw previews... or stuff...

The critics are bashing a monster movie for having too much monster fighting.

For me personally I found it to be rubbish. Although the last half hour or so saved the film from being a complete flop. 4/10 at best. I am looking forward to Godzilla vs Kong though next year.

I just saw it and I can say right now, as a Godzilla fan, there weren't enough monster fights. With that said, the fights were fun and good. I liked it well enough. I watched a few reviews saying too many fights made them seem less significant, but that is actual nonsense. I will say that the whole "we have to have a human element, while I get it, is always taken too far in these movies.

I honestly wish it had more monster fighting. I also really thought the human subplot was completely uninteresting which, to be fair, is often the case in these movies. But somehow it felt even dumber in this.

I also had a hard time seeing the action during some of the fights which always annoys me. I still think Pacific Rim did it so well that it hasn't been beaten in that regard.

Is there much of the monsters versus humans?

My biggest issue with the 2014 film was that the trailer showed all sorts of military shit that I thought Godzilla was gonna wreck but instead it was just a couple of dumb bugs running around until Godzilla showed up to fight them for 10 minutes

God I remember Godzilla 2014, stupid movie was mostly about humans not monster battles and godzilla had brontosaurus feet, wtf?

In the original movies there the ratio of monster fighting was much higher and most of the human parts were scientists/generals making decisions on how to aid/destroy said monsters or escape a tertiary threat.

There are 17 monsters but we only get glimpses of most of them.

There are 3 major fights in the movie that i remember, peppered with humans doing human things to fill out the rest of the movie
