Also, no Terminator movie will ever capture the atmosphere from the first.

Kyle Reese was fucking amazing, his terror, trauma. He kept saying that the Terminator could not be stopped, could not be reasoned with. And he was right, the constant fear played such a huge part in this movie. And as good a movie as T2 was, ir was basically 2 murderbots squaring off, that constant feel of fear and terror went missing.

They need to give Salvation another shot. It wasn't great but it was better than 3 and Gynysys. At the very least it was something original and different instead of "Hey, you liked T2 right?". They just need to let this nostalgia bait stuff die.

Oh yeah I agree, both T2 and Aliens are fantastic movies, but they have totally different atmospheres from their prequels. Again, I am not saying they are bad, because T2 is arguably one of the best action movies. But all Terminator movies after just rehash the murderbot fights. The only decent sequel is Salvation so far, because that one actually takes place AFTER Judgement day and doesn't try to fuck around with timetravel. But all other movies have been subpar rehashes of T2. Personally I really want another Salvation movie, in the future. Preferably just when the war started, or hell, a new series would be fantastic too.

That, or another movie that actually honors and stays close to T1, because to me, that is still the best Terminator movie out there.
