Only 2 % actually serve a function. They encode RNA which then make proteins, some serve as regulator, communicator
They build, manage and maintain the human being.

The rest of it serve no known purpose whatsoever. Some of the junk DNA can be traced to viruses, bacterias sometimes ancient species that once inhabit our ancestor, and traded DNA trough horizontal genetic transfer, but still get copied when our own DNA multiply. Inside our DNA contains traces of other species too, although they aren't active in any form. Just junk literred among the coast of a beach full of dead fossils.

3 billions of base pairs, only 2% of them amount to human being. We have around 20,000 genes. Worm have around 18,000 genes. Corn have around 30,000 genes. (Genes are parts in the DNA that serve a function)

so the numbers of genes barely account of complexity. It is how human genes are structured, interact and function that makes us more complex than corn.

Even now, these complex interactions are barely understood. We can identify a sequence of DNA, analyze it, then figure out what protein they encode, what enzymes are inside those proteins, and the general function of the proteins, yet in a larger scope, we still know very little about their grand machinations.

A large portion of non-coding DNA has been discovered to actually serve a purpose, so even though only 2% actually code protein sequences, that does not mean the rest is useless. Perhaps you need to actually read up on it.

TC proven to be 98% useless.

Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images.
