9-10 hours with 15 minutes for lunch. So only 9.75 at most. It is primarily manufacturing. We do have a few office people as well

What shithole state allows 15 minute lunches. God do I feel sorry for every unfortunate soul who has to live there.

Edit: what the fuck, half the states don't even require meal breaks to be given. Just another reason a lot of those states deserve the reputation they get.

Yes!

usually in my office based job, I sit in a computer for 8 hours, but don't do any actual work, so I guess it counts as a break. I'm mainly on the internet or playing with my Switch in my cubicle. I go for water cooler breaks every 2 hours to stretch lol

And of course 1 hour lunch breaks!

Most jobs (like mine) just add the break time onto the daily schedule.

I'm at work for 9 hours but I actually get paid for 8.

And you have to clock out if you leave the premises.

SpriteLimit, you seem to be a very lousy employer, this seems like a great way to make your employees hate you and be less productive.
Have you ever even worked 8 hours a day in your entire life?

15 minute lunches? That's called slavery m8. Good employee-employer relationships are crucial and beneficial for both parties.
These guys will throw you under the bus, first chance they get, and, quite frankly, I hope they do, you seem to deserve it.

Yeah, here in Wisconsin, they don't even have to give you breaks, even to go to the bathroom. I briefly worked at a place that would take away breaks if anyone messed up. Other than that, despite not being required to, all other place I've worked, have given breaks.

Yes.

Many types of jobs need breaks to be safe. If you count bathroom breaks virtually all jobs do.

Construction jobs in the summer for example. A worker not alllowed sufficent breaks can easily get heat stroke or cause an accident due to exhaustion.

Looking at any productivity study and you'll see one break per four hour shifts and at least thirty minutes for lunch yields better results than working through an eight hour shift.

if employee and employer had equal amounts of power in this equation, I would agree with this. however, the employee can easily be coerced into a shitty job if there's nowhere else to go, so there's a massive power imbalance. honestly I would be in favour of such agreements being made illegal
