Autonomous

Its this cyber-punky sci fi story about a pirate who steals and synthesizes drugs from Pharma corps to sell on the black market.

But she sold this one productivity drug that hadnt finished coming out of drug trials yet and now theres this weird epidemic going on where people are working themselves to death and shes being tracked down by this police/military force thats basically what if the state could enforce IP protection with guns and robots?

Its pretty cool

The Crucible

If a play doesnt count, then The Things They Carried.

One of the most brutal books I've read. The stories are all really good but The lemon tree And The one about the GF/wife that joins the green berets Are both brutal.

On topic: Knight of Jerusalem. About half way through and it's pretty good so far. Part of a trilogy about a dramatized version of Balian of Ibelins time before/during the crusades.

I didnt read TTTC for pleasure. Im a teacher, and it was one of our texts. I didnt particularly like the book, but it was great to teach. And the students seemed to like it.

That's fair. I read it in school myself, doubt I would have came across it otherwise.

It's a brutal book but boy did it leave a lasting impression. 14 years later and I still think about it from time to time.

Love the dragon lance series. Dragons of Spring Dawning was a perfect end for the trilogy.

I've only read that trilogy and the twins trilogy. Any other recommendations from that universe you can throw my way?

War of Souls is pretty good (Dragons of a Fallen Sun, Dragons of a Lost Star, and Dragons of a Vanished Moon), it takes place a few decades after the war of the lance.

Oh, I keep hearing about that one!

I developed a slight Murakami addiction thanks to Persona 4, and Ive been buying up whatever I see of his in my local used book store. So far finished Wind Up Bird Chronicles and 1Q84, and have Norwegian Wood sitting on my desk when Im finished this current book. All of them were like 7 bucks or cheaper its great <_<

basically anything with Margaret Weis' name on it, lol. She wrote the entire main series (usually along with Tracy Hickman), except one trilogy by Jean Rabe which is worse, but necessary. Her side stuff is also really good, as are a lot of her non-dragonlance works (Deathgate is probably my third favorite novel series ever. The first 3 Darksword are great, 4 is... not.)

The other series are much more hit and miss, and can be read or skipped depending only on how deep you want to go. a lot of them are telling prequel stories about characters in the main story, others are barely connected at all. I can't remember specific books well enough to suggest beyond that, but I do remember liking Jeff Grubb and Doug Niles a lot, and Jean Rabe eventually.

No it's not a manga, it's actually about Yasuke; Nobunaga's bodyguard a Jesuit slave soldier turned Samurai. Pretty good read.

no problem. I grew up on Dragonlance, lol. I've probably read 90+% of them.

The main series is, in order:

Chronicles 1-3
Legends 1-3
The Second Generation
Chronicles 4
Dragons of a New Age 1-3
War of Souls 1-3
The Dark Disciple 1-3

The Raistlin Chronicles 1-2 and The Lost Chronicles 1-3 can be read any time after Legends, iirc, but they were published after Chronicles 4 and last, respectively. The Dhamon Saga 1-3 is fine right after Dragons of a New Age, but I can't remember if it's a must read or not.
