I have a sushi place near my house I go to alone all the time for sushi/ramen/beer. One time the owner even went up to me and said he liked my style, just enjoying myself with good food and alcohol lol

I think no one cares unless that's their spot and they notice you have a routine of going alone. Everyone has there own lives, they're not trying to solve the mystery of why someone is alone at a restaurant

Im going out of state next week for orientation for my new job. I rarely eat alone but its a fun city and lots of good restaurants so I will have to get out of my comfort zone and just do it.

I tried going to a sushi place during lunch break a few months back. I sat alone at the bar and of course the waiter asked me why I was all alone. Made it feel more awkward than it did already lol.

What helps is if I go there in my work clothes, and I usually keep myself busy on my phone (emails, reading, Tetris) so I don't have time to think about what others might be saying about me eating alone.

Going out with someone else is always better, but sometimes you just gotta remind yourself that your hunger waits for and is afraid of no one.

Good point. I feel the same. Now in days it's harder to tell who cares for conversation and who doesn't cause now everyone looks down instead of just the socially anxious people >_>.
