Back in college I gained an affinity for roguelikes. They were generally cheap (usually theyre indie affairs) and offer endless replayability due to the fact that theyre procedurally generated and the only overall progress you make is via unlocks.

The general premise of the game is that the zombie apocalypse has happened, and your group wants to get from Florida to the last country on Earth, Canada. Simple enough.

On the way to Canada your party goes through text-based events and looting/siege events. The text-based ones are interesting actually because every character has a personality trait, which, while giving them some kind of bonus, also affects their 4 different personality values (in addition to combat stats), which can make these situations play out very differently. Oh and the game just oozes our charm and quirky personality as well.

The action segments are interesting to say the least. Looting feels satisfying. Unlike most zombie games your goal isnt to just plow through them. If anything running is a better tactic, and you only kill the ones that get in your way.

So, yeah, I would recommend this game if you like roguelikes.
