I remember seeing the first few episodes when it first aired but never kept up with it.

I tried going back to it a few years ago but I got bored and skipped to Millunium World

Idk. On paper it sounds awesome. Globe trotting adventure with some crazy magic shenanigans and high stakes. Some of the individual moments were awesome too. (Duraw! Monstah Cardo!)

But I couldnt get into it

It was the worst kind of filler. Which is to say, it was filler that featured all sorts of crazy nonsense to make itself seem important.

That was actually the coolest part about the filler arc. Other than the first meeting with Pegasus (Yugi still technically won, but he "ran out of time"), Yugi never loses a single duel. I was happy as a kid to see him finally lose.

No, I don't mean him acting ruthless was out of character, I mean him acting like an idiot was out of character. Using the Seal of Orichalcos was stupid as hell. He's smarter then that.

Oh yeah, the writers definitely couldn't think of a good reason there. He literally could've just asked for game 2 with no soul lost in the process

Honestly, it's probably my favorite arc in the series with season 5 as a close second.

i liked the abridged series explanation as to why he used the seal in the first place which is exactly the reason he had in the anime just not said outright

I think not to mention most burn strats would've killed Dartz easy, but then again most degenerate burn strat could beat anybody in the Yugioh universe... maybe except Yusei or Kalin who went up against a shitload of burn decks

Only if a modern day gem-knight degeneracy was shown off in the anime lol. I don't think there are many people in the anime who can withstand lady diamond burn especially with only 4k lp. I know they were in Arc-V but it wasn't full power gem-knights

I liked the dragon cards, Yugi losing, and the final duel against Dartz, but that's basically it.

I had to actually check it out, I was wrong about turn 1 but they still could have won.

1. Yugis turn, has BLA and Ultimate Dragon. Dont fuse into Dragon Master Knight
2. Attack that stupid eyeball monster
3. Dartzs turn, has 1 monster, activates second seal but otherwise cant do crap yet
5. Kaibas turn. Attack the ogre with BLS and attack lifepoint directly with Ultimate Dragon for game.

Yugi/Kaiba made constant misplays because instead of just attacking his monsters they tried to use these roundabout strategies that triggered the eyeballs damar absorbtion effect. That thing should have been the first thing to go.

trickstars in real life are a meta deck and can and have won tournaments.
but cause the anime series doesnt like for its female characters to be competent blue maiden always has to lose
unless dueling another girl or a robot or something

she got to beat a little kid recently who we were told from the start had no chance of beating her which cheapened her win
basically everytime she duels someone remotely serious her vagina prevents her from winning
