I don't really keep up with my relatives all that much,especially since like 95% of my relatives aren't even in the United States. lol. I basically only communicate with my brother, sister and like 2 cousins here.

So a week ago on Facebook there was this random ass 19 year old girl messaging me out of the blue, the profile was made like 9/10 days ago, the profile pic was a selfie (like most fake/bot accounts always have a selfie profile pic in my experience. lol) and profile said that the girl was some Florida, a place I never even came close to being on. So I just assumed it was that there was no way that this account isn't a bot. lol

She just said "hey whats up" and I just ignored it. Then later on the same day the girl spammed like 3 more messages, they were all simple messages like "Hey" "are you there" "???". and that shit was enough to annoy me. I just blocked her and left that issue alone.

Then yesterday me and my sister were just watching Netflix and I happened to glance on her phone and noticed she was talking to the same bot as before. (based on the same profile pic) And I told my sister "Yo, I also ran into that account before. Damn spammers are everywhere now." and she basically told me that this person is actually one of our cousin from the Dominican Republic and that they recently moved to Florida. My sister also told me that our cousin got a bit sad since I ignored her and never replied back... lol

Now I just feel like an asshole now tbh. Though in fairness the last time I've seen her was when she was a 9 year old girl, lol. She's now a goddamn woman, how am I suppose to know that this grown ass woman was the same little girl I remembered all those years ago. omg

(And this might sound hella bad but I'm too scared to even reply back to her now and apologize, like idk it feels awkward and I feel like I did too much damage and in all honestly I doubt I'll ever see her again irl so meh)

I don't understand why you can't just tell her you couldn't recognize her because the last time you saw her was a decade ago.

It'll be much worse if she ever visits your sister and you still haven't cleared it up.

She should have been way more direct in showing/telling who she was, it is your choice if you want to unblock her or not.

I dont see any reason to keep her blocked, just chat with her, she clearly wanted to connect with you and you continuing to block her knowing she is not a bot is pretty pathetic.
