Also, I finished up the main segment of Roer in Cold Steel II. Rather fitting ending to this section considering what I was talking about earlier since now Vulcan is dead, too. I wonder if all of the Imperial Liberation Front will end up dead before this is all said and done.

Max for Act 2 Part 2 was 40. like everything gives 2 AP though lol.

I'd say the most likely culprit is Before you infiltrate Reinford HQ, let's say before you even head to the mines to be safe, if you head south out of Roer on the Nortia Highway and follow it all the way to the Schwarz Drache Barrier to check the situation there it's 2 AP.

Otherwise it's either: Missed recruiting a student, didn't win the mech fight against Neithardt in that quest, or didn't catch both sheep in the snowboard game for that quest.

So does the game automatically just put the lowest level character into your party when you start a new segment? I'm not seeing any rhyme or reason for who the new permanent member is for each part other than Gaius for the first one.

No, I think it's fixed who is required. As for reasons... I dunno. IIRC it seemed pretty arbitrary outside the actual "mission" segments. It's Fie right now, right?

I was half expecting the answer to be "nobody," but when I was forced to make a choice, I was pretty sure I had the right person, but I double checked a guide just to be safe since I figured extra AP was on the line. Thankfully, I was right all along!

Also HxH 2011 beated. Amazing anime. Probably Top 5 but I don't feel like thinking about my list or whatever so i dunno maybe it's like #6 if I ever thought about it again. Ended real strong (though not particularly the last episode IMO, second-to-last honestly felt more emotional to me). Gon is a fascinating character. Killua is a better friend than he deserves. Kurapika was robbed by lack of screentime. And Leorio had one of the best moments in the entire show towards the end lmao.

I also loved Hunter x Hunter but I really don't like the final arc. Alluka an actual contender for least favorite anime character of all time. It did help a bit when I learned they were related to things that are going on later in the manga, but still. Leorio's stuff during the final arc was great though yeah. Show needs more of him (and also Kurapika) in general. It doesn't help that I really don't like Gon (Especially not his stuff towards the end of Chimera Ant) and only really like the show when it's focusing on other people, which I guess is most of the time.

Is Act 2 Part 2 of Cold Steel II the part focusing on Angelica? If so I really liked that part.

Also, I was finally able to beat that cryptid back at the Garrelia Fortress, and I beat another one I found in the Nord Highlands. Got me some Lost Arts now. I just stumbled across one in Lunaria Nature Park, too.

HxH: I can get why you might not like Alluka, in the sense that she's basically a walking plot device to heal Gon. But I think it's mitigated by apparently Gon doesn't recover Nen in the manga so the cost is still there in large part. And yeah, the whole Dark Continent stuff maybe having answers down the line. But I found her relationship and its effect on Killua to be great.

Yeah, I'm not having any trouble with these cryptid fights now. I beat the one on the Nortia Highway on my way to the Ignis Shrine.

Friendly reminder that Ignis is a top tier FF character and Episode Ignis was incredible.

Hmmm...So did I blow my chance to explore the regular Ignis Shrine by not going down the Nortia Highway during the previous act? That's lame.

Actually, I don't think so. IIRC, if you try, Rean is like "huh, another shrine. but we don't have time for this!" Like, the party reacts to seeing it but I don't believe you can do anything with it.

I'll try to double-check though.

Anybody have experience with that/advice on how to choose between people based on a single short interaction? The last time I did this (when entering grad school) I just took the first people to respond to the email and it worked out fine, but I dont want to tempt fate again

Well, user SaveEstelle is the only roommate I've had outside of college, so I can't help you much there. I figure the main thing is decide what the most important things are that you want a roommate to do/not do and ask those things.

Speaking of, I started watching a Let's Play of the Crossbell games the other day.

Can't say it's particularly wild yet though, as I'm only in the prologue of Zero, but yeah.

I like Lloyd so far, which is nice because I was a bit worried he'd be a really generic protagonist. (He could still be generic depending on where it goes, but it at least seems like he'll be good regardless)

It's like the Chapter 6 Bonding Events from CS1 in that it counts as a "special event" that unlocks the final bonding event. Though like CS1 it's not the only such event that qualifies. Though IIRC for certain characters not-Class-VII-and-Sara it's the only one so if you want any chance of unlocking their final event hopefully you spend a bond point on them there.

Also unlikely CS1, after you beat the game there's an extra menu that lets you view any final bond event you unlocked.

Is it complete or ongoing with your belief it will complete? I remember years ago I saw one where the LPer had to do the translations themselves so it was understandably slow going and it seemed like it died early on.

Assuming you mean "is the Let's Play complete", the answer is yes. Both Zero and Ao albeit with somewhat spotty translation patches. As I indicated though I myself have barely progressed through the Let's Play at all.

The LP'er is davidvinc, for the record, who has done LP's for all of the Trails games I'm pretty sure. (I was already familiar with him because I've used his videos as references when trying to look up things about games I'd already played after having already past that point in the game)

I enjoyed KH3 while playing it, but thinking back on it it was a bit of a let down for some reason... cant quite put my finger on why

Maybe its that I felt like there should have been more main plot relative to Disney worlds? Putting another Twilight Town-like world in the middle probably would have helped.

Zero no Kiseki Prologue beated

Definitely my favorite introduction to a Trails arc so far. Lloyd is great. Crossbell is great.

It also strikes me (in a good way) how this feels noticeably different from the other two arcs. Like I knew you played as policemen in this game, but the game actually feels somewhat like a detective drama so far which is pretty cool.

Also playing through this game from the beginning knowing most of the major twists but without any real context is...interesting. (Ao no Kiseki spoilers) In particular I'd really like to know what Wazy's angle is right now...

Nothing wrong with Laura, but like Gaius she comes into CS1 pretty much as a realized character. She has her temporary issue with Fie but that blows over quickly. And Gaius benefits from the Nord Field Study way more than Laura does from Legram. Whereas Millium has a lot more going for her given her affiliations and situation.

I'm a big fan of Millium, she gets some great lines. I also used her as my physical DPS character and she does a good job of it.

I think I agree with this, but she's fighting an uphill battle. Hyperactive kid characters in RPG's intrinsically have to work a lot harder to get me to care about them and Millium isn't anywhere near making up for that natural handicap by having marginally more intrigue behind her.

Laura isn't that high in my Cold Steel rankings either tbh but I do really like her character design.

AoT S3.II: Final Pre-Basement Episode 6: Followed up the last episode with another excellent one! I think I would have slightly preferred if Hange's speech to Mikasa about letting go was what ended up swaying Levi but Hange continuing to prove she's the best. That speech. =( Levi, Hange, and Erwin the real power trio of this show. Armin's cool and all but not gonna lie I'd have preferred Erwin be saved, he's the more compelling character IMO.

oh right and i guess beast titan dropped some plot bombshells since he apparently knows eren's dad and says they're both victims of him, but levi scared him off lmao "let's call it a draw" get out of here levi wasted you. also reiner can't keep getting away with it. "very lucky today" bull****. i would be livid if we lost hange and he escaped all this but since hange is back i will instead just be irritated

Also apparently Season 4/The Final Season of AoT was announced for Fall 2020.
