They dont sound alike, but they both refuse to stick to a genre and are very goofy and self-aware. Great show. Ghost played an hour, SOAD around 90 mins. I'm a huuuuge fan of what he's/they're doing and bringing to the table in today's scene. I didn't know a ton of SOAD a couple months ago, but had loved the "greatest hits" I'd heard, so I started listening to them a lot at the gym and such. There was a segment of their set where it got repetitive and all started running together, but by and large I really admire how they write so abstractly and put whatever the hell they want into a song. Radio/Video and BYOB are two great examples. My only real complaint is that I'm not sure they put as much thought into pacing their setlist as they could've -- it was weird to have Lonely Day, Lost in Hollywood, and even Questions (which has its soft stuff) all right at the end instead of spaced throughout where the show could've breathed a lot better.
