It came with this ugly special edition PS4 but never bothered to play through. In complaince with the Commander Shepard Law of 1593, I will be going through as a kawaii redhead.



Aaaaaaand with 60 seconds, these geniuses have crashed a plane into the flight control tower they're currently commandeering. These can't seriously fulfill both parts of "best and brightest," can they?

Was Blops 3 the first or 2nd CoD with a robot arm? I forgot which is which.

No idea -- never played any of the other Blops.

Anyway, passed the training mission. The enhanced AI for the simulation finally makes the game feel like a modern shooter -- the beginning (airport raid) was pretty underwhelming. It almost felt like a slightly better Wolfenstein, which isn't really a compliment. Being able to run on walls and stuff feels more like Titanfall-caliber fun.

It seems using a DNI to take people's memories leaves 'em braindead. I'm sure this will come up again sometime in the future, like your mentor dying or something. I'd be very surprised if Stabler's team makes it all the way to the end.

It's pretty stupid so far, yeah. To be honest, any time the enemy is "ROBOTS!!!!!!!" my brain instantly hates it. Mostly because people want realistic warfare type games, but don't want to deal with the normal human-on-human killing, so they make the enemies robots, zombies, etc. It's always kind of a cop-out, no matter what type of narrative they're weaving or psychobabble they're spitting.

Hopefully the future missions aren't all robot-filled, because it's not enjoyable. People with prosthetics and stuff is fine, but actual bleep-bloop robot soldiers? Naw.

Long ass campaign with a nonsense story. Still had a few select parts I enjoyed.

Just got past the part where you have to do some stuff in Signapore, cut off a chick's hand to fool a biometric scanner, then escape in a weird forest of sequoias on steroids. Yeah, nothing in this story makes much sense so far. Stabler's team of ordinary psychos might've defected and cut noses off people, so...that's different.

Those segments where you're on an emplacement and detonating all that stuff shooting at you...you'd swear those structures were held together with duct tape and TNT. It makes for some cool, adrenaline-filled visuals but makes absolutely no sense in many respects. I did enjoy the operatives attempting to negotiate with that Asian contact, then when things went south, they just gunned down everyone with robo-soldiers, lmao. Some people have no negotiating skills.

Welp, finally went into the deep ruins of the Coalescence Corporation, which still magically had electricity after...I dunno, twenty years? If the game was honest, they would've called the level what it really was: an old robot pit. Since one of Taylor's buddies was...uh...mindlinking to control the robots, it's looking more like Taylor's group really did go rogue. I wouldn't doubt if they were brainjacked by some type of technology, though. Hopefully that frozen forest line means something.

Also, thanks for killing me with sinking debris when I had went through the whole level without dying. That sure was great.

Welp, went through Signapore to rescue Kane which, surprisingly, was successful. No de-nosing, no melting in a towering inferno, no late-onset Taylor syndrome. What was surprising was the psycho one-armed Asian chick literally ambushing me by hiding behind a door. That's either the most brilliant gambit ever or one of the stupidest. Oh well, her face was literally shoved into fire, so I doubt she'll be coming back for another round.

Still not sure if this means Kane is a good guy, though. I mean...she might've been unconscious, but she was barely tied to that chair and Taylor's team had little to do with anything, other than "we leaked all the CIA's plans to terrorists. Sorry not sorry!" Of minor interest was my buddy Hendricks playing the mission by-the-book and barely helping while my redhead was Rambo-ing everything.
