I did a playthrough of HG way back in 2016 and I stopped just before Red. I was horribly underleveled (low 60's) and there was no way in hell I was ever going to beat him. I booted it up today because I replaced the batteries on my Pokewalker and it somehow reverted to when I was an hour and a half in with 1 badge. Any idea what the hell's going on?

Your main save got corrupted somehow. There's a backup save on the DS Pokemon games that it reverts to when that happens.
