what happened lately that escalated things even more than usual?

There are some apparent strikes on some oil yards in the middle east that are being pinned on IRAN and since we have Bolton at the command, there was instantly some saber rattling.

Donald Trump also needed a distraction because he said some really dumb things about extending his period as president so he's taking a play out of the Republican handbook and going "oh shit what's going on over there?" as a distraction.

It's largely hysteria that the Right is feeding, although there is always a danger especially with tariffs and sanctions flying every whicb way.

Hope that sorts it out mareep.
