I've had it for almost 2 months now, but I've read cases of people having it for decades. Which is a scary proposition.

Some days it can be a pretty high pitch noise that makes me want to bang my head against the wall. Came close to a few panic attacks when it was almost unbearable. The first few nights I'd have to sleep right next to my fan on the floor on high just help drown out the noise. I'm on anxiety medicine right now and the seems to be reducing the volume which makes it easier to ignore. I'm going to a Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor in few days so I'll find out more.

Anyone here currently dealing with Tinnitus?

Do you have a Water Retention? or low Vitamin B count in your system? They have Ring Relief too at the store but if that doesn't work you might have something more serious causing it.

Not sure if it would help in your case exactly, but from what I read hearing aids can greatly reduce or eliminate the ringing.

I've adapted to it. Before the accident I slept while watching tv so noise doesn't bother me unless I think about it, granted thinking about breathing bothers me too.

Water retention is something that I am definitely considering. I get fullness in my head and around my ears and a pressure feeling around my head and ears as well. That same feeling you get when your ears need to pop, but mine seem to constantly feel that way. Not sure about low Vitamin b count. That's something I'll find out when I go to the ENT doctor.

It's funny you bring up the Ring Relief because that's exactly what I've been trying the last couple of months. I can't really say or not if it's really doing anything. One day I think it is and the next seems like it's just making it worse. It's pretty much a crapshoot when it comes to those homeopathic remedies.

It only happens when the room is silent. So I always have music or a loud fan going.

Could it be an earwax impaction?
I get those from time, it has a similar pressure, or need to pop feel.
Though I don't think it ever gave me tinnitus.

If that were the case it would be good, and earwax impaction can be not as bad as it seems, once finally knock it out. Also you will have mega hearing for a while after.

Not really diagnosing you hear though, because Tinnitus can be a lot of things.

I do know a very good way of knocking out an impaction, but no one ever listens to me about it.

But ya, talk to your ears nose and throat Doctor.

If it's affecting your ability to sleep or concentrate on things you can buy tinnitus noise machines that work on a similar principle to noise canceling headphones - they generate barely perceptible white noise tuned to mask out the frequency of your particular ringing, so you can leave it in the room you sleep or work in and get escape from it.

I get it for short periods at a time. I'm not sure what causes it but i'll have to pause what i'm listening to or put a conversation on hold for a few minutes until it goes away. It's annoying.

There's a light sizzling sound playing on my left ear when the volume is too loud or not *shrugs*, it rang when I was using a cake mixer.

Is that even Tinnitus? right ear is perfectly fine and It's been years since I last used head/ear phones.

FUDGE

Did a quick google and it looks like I have a "Pulsatile Tinnitus", been shrugging it off since the noise goes away when I lower the volume.

As far as I can remember, I've had it all my life. It's not a major case of it, but I hear a slight piercing eeeeeeeeee any time I'm in total silence.

I have it permanently. Most of the time I can't hear it. But if it's a quiet room I can. It's not so bad but every once in a while it's deafening and I hate it.

All that loud music I guess.

I've had it for as long as I remember. Like an electronic EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

It's usually easy to ignore, but sometimes everything shuts off in one ear except for the beep.

Oh, sometimes there are other sounds, too. I'm really sensitive to fan rotations. Like, the whirring sound. If it oscillates weird, I can't listen to it until it goes back to normal. Sometimes it's like a woow-woow-woow noise when obviously I want white noise. I can also hear a super high pitched ring from electric outlets. It happened when my phone and charger were plugged in. When I pulled it out of the power strip, it stopped.

Come to think of it, at my old house, I used to hear like a repulser sound at night. Imagine like an abducto ray or something, like it grabs something and it's like WOWOWOWOW as it pulls it in. That might have been a fan oscillating weird too, but I remember it being so disruptive I couldn't sleep. I just stayed up until I was so exhausted that I couldn't not sleep.
