Lol whoops, I didnt mean guys as in males there but I can see how it might have seemed that way. I respect transgenders wishes to be referred to by the gender they choose. I just dont think its fair for MtF trans to be competing against biological women.

Personally, I think athletics should move to open divisions so that the debate over gender and hormones and whatnot isn't even called into question. Those who want to compete, can compete. Separate based on qualifier rounds, or if you really want to get into the nitty gritty then run chemical tests on athletes before every event and sort them accordingly.

That being said, it's a tough argument. I always favor inclusivity but it's not easy to convince others.

Yes it's true that there can be differences in chemical makeups of the competitors, but gender identity is not the only differing factor in this debate. Genetics play a significant role, and it can be a lucky roll of the dice to be born with superior qualities for athletics. We don't discriminate against these athletes, so it seems unfair to do so for people who have transitioned.

If trans women can compete with cis women, then the best athletes in both male and female leagues will be the ones that were born with penises.

Sports are about competition. It's not the jungle. It's not about who's the baseline strongest. It's about who's the best in their respective league. That's why we don't have heavyweight boxers knocking out middleweight boxers in two punches.

I hope someday we'll have enough trans athletes for them to have their own leagues. Until then, it's unfair for them to compete with cis women.

Don't do it. You'll get what his college professor said in gender study class.

No woman should compete with men in Athletics. Race car driving? Darts? Bowling? Yeah the lines are not blurred there. When it comes to anything that requires physical effort? Nope, no way.

Instead of calling them male and female divisions, they could call them XX and XY divisions.

A woman who grew up in a testosterone-fueled biologically male body has a greater unfair advantage than someone would have from taking illegal performance enhancers. And no amount of estrogen intake is going to compensate for that.

It's not even bringing a sword to a knife fight. It's just outright giving the competition to someone as compensation for them having been born the wrong sex.
