Part of the problem is that I've been "practicing" for years. In that, I would drive around in a friend's car once and just procrastinate on it for a while (years later usually) lol

Now I've been seriously trying to learn to drive and get my license and shit.

I've been in the same boat. Thanks to an auto-pedestrian as a kid, I've only had my license for...two years now, I think, and I'm in my early 30s.

It's a mental struggle. I personally have trouble driving if I have windows or the moonroof open and can hear nearby traffic. I have to have fans or music on, or I start getting anxious.

I've had my permit since my Sophomore year in high school. I am currently 24 :/

Give it another couple of months and you'll be driving with one hand, wearing sunglasses, leaning back in your seat, hanging one arm out the window, going 10 mph over the speed limit, and blasting "Danger Zone" on max volume.
