I really loved the flashback sequences that showed you what happened to Altair after the first game. It was interesting and sad seeing him age.

And I still don't understand why spoiler LUCY spoiler had to die. Maybe they'll explain it in the third one.

I think the businesses were glitched out because the bank never got enough money as it should have and I would be in the middle of a mission, get a notice that money had been deposited and then go there after the mission and it would be a zero balance. Oh wells

I didn't get their obsession with bombs either. If I were a more interesting person I would have actually played around with them, as it stands I only used them a few times (and I tried to use a Cherry Bomb but it hit a ceiling above me and totally screwed up my master plan).

Not 100% sure if I want to pick up Liberation or skip to Rogue (I already finished 4).

This makes my current 2019 completed games list...

Two Point Hospital: 13 February 2019
The Division: 17 February 2019
RAGE: 20 February 2019
Assassin's Creed 2: 5 March 2019
Lucius 3: 27 April 2019
Hatred: 28 April 2019
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: 2 May 2019
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2: 2 May 2019
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3: 3 May 2019
Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood: 9 MAY 2019
Assassin's Creed - Revelations: 10 May 2019

Ezio and Altair's endings were both great

and I feel bad suspecting the one dude to turn on you, but he was a bro all the way to his death

and with a Lucy, I think the actress ended her contract, or something like that, so they got rid of the character.

umwut that's all? lol I thought there was going to be some cool twist like she was a triple agent, or someone from the first civilization or something.

*spoilers for later on about Lucy* so yea, she was killed off, and it's going to be revealed that she was a traitor, iirc, but I think that I remember something about how the actress decided to leave so it was written that way

I loved Rev.

The reason for Lucy's death is entirely out of universe. Something to do with the VA. They tried to reconcile it in later games but the whole thing feels sloppy.

And yeah, bombs were fun but the game was never enough of a challenge to really encourage you to use them. I played around a bit for the trophies and just to see what they did but despite being fun, it felt totally tacked on and more time consuming than it was worth.

Lib is pretty skippable, though it did one thing that I loved that the series has never revisited (though maybe it did in the 8th gen; Iunno since I'm still a 7th genner) and that was the persona system.

You can change at will between an Assassin persona, a slave persona and a lady persona. I forget all the details but they each have cool features and drawbacks, like Assassin has lots of weapons and can free run but you arouse suspicion easily. The lady is super sneaky but awful at mobility because you wear a dress. And the slave can get you into plantations and stuff but has some drawback or other that I forgot.

I really hoped they would bring it back for 4 but they didn't. Nor Rogue.

May not have been the best one, but I'll always maintain that up until Origins, Ezio and Altair had the best endings. Everything from music, voice acting, cinematography. These alone keep it from being a mediocre title since the payoff is fucking great.

They never explain Lucy so don't even bother, or bother getting invested in what little paltry lore they've come up with so far. Kristen bell wanted out (good call on her part) and instead of giving her some heroic death to write her out properly they went with "oh she was a templar the whole time."

That being said I personally liked revelations. I liked the setting for the most part, and I liked wrapping up not just ezio's story, but even Altair's. Too bad the next protagonist is lame (but the one after that is aight)

It's just weird, like it happens at the end of Brotherhood and then they vaguely mention it in passing in Revelations but it's just a yeah she's buried now lol. line and that's it >_>

This also actually sounds pretty fun.

I get that they are constantly trying to add to the series but it certainly feels like any time they add a feature, they take away another one, or two... It's a weird way to work the development.

I vaguely remember 4 to be honest, but if I remember right it was almost too happy. Origins was tragic but I still liked it.

So I did play 4 and then Origins before the others (it's the reason I decided to revisit the series tbh), and I really enjoyed the fact that there is an Amunet statue as one of the six Assassins under the Monteriggioni castle. I guess it's not really an easter egg since obviously these games came first, but I thought it was a cool thing that the developers, so many years later, put that into Origins.

The best part of Revelations was the payoff at the end. To see Altair and Ezio sort of come together symbolically and have their journies end there was so powerful.

I started it, was not expecting the combat changes. Sat there for two minutes trying to counter the guy on the ship in the fist fight >_>

Everything feels faster, I like that I don't have to hold A any more while free running to run even faster.

The graphics are to die for, too. I loved sailing through the storm and climbing the rigging and seeing these massive waves coming up for me. The scale or perspective of this game is really something.

If you're going to play a.c. 3 and most of the a.c. games then you may as well play liberation, but play it before 3. It's just ok, though I'm actually a fan of the blow dart as a weapon, silent but deadly.

I felt that was gimmicky as all hell and pretty tacky. It was fine for one game but definitely would be cumbersome if all the games had them.

Syndicate had something similar in having you play as 2 different characters that you can switch between, and it was just as gimmicky. Doesn't hamper gameplay but not something I'd like to see again, especially since origins rebooted the series in the best possible way.
