As in, you have to be 18, sign a waiver, and the actors touch you instead of the family friendly hands off approach of a regular haunted house. I really enjoy them, personally. I like the genuine terror and how I get to interact with the actors so personally. How about you guys? Is that something you enjoy or think you would enjoy? Let me know!

Sounds like a bad system. The one I'm going to tomorrow has a main attraction that you have to wait in line for, and it can get pretty long, but the adult portion is sectioned off by time slots so you don't have to wait very long as long as you arrive on time.

I once went to a haunted house at a fair, one of those ones where you sat in a little cart on a track and get shipped through.

It was pitch black, aside from some glowing shit on the walls. And that was it. Nothing happened, nothing and nobody jumped out,no eerie SFX or music, nothing. In one end, out the other. I couldnt believe i waited in line for like 20 minutes for that BS.

I gave the idiot running the thing a dirty look. Wanted to say 'the fuck was that? You're charging money for that shit? Fuck off'

No, but I have been to a gay sauna
Lots of scary and ugly creatures trying to get their hands on you

Pretty much the same experience but more steamy

You just wanted to be touched by creepy strangers in costumes.

Seriously though, I never got the chance to do the haunted house version, but I was in Salem, MA one Halloween and there was a sort of haunted block party. It was weird. Dancing on one street corner, a bar set up on another, and people trying to scare others in alleys and such. This guy comes running out of an alley with a chainsaw above his head and people were screaming and running away. I just stood there like, "It's Halloween, guys. It's not real."

The guy gets right next to me, sees I'm not concerned, and says, "You're no fun, man."

I replied, "I was hoping it was finally my time." Everyone looked at me like I was a weirdo. It was an obvious joke, but whatever.

Sorry. Felt like sharing that since you reminded me of it.

The scariest scene was the one where it was April 15th and I forgot to file my taxes. But the car breaking down on the way to a job interview was a close second.

Yeah, so? That's the best part! They have complete control over what you do and where you go, it's so exhilarating!

It was a special event containing the best elements of the past six seasons of the attraction.

I've never seen one where they're allowed to touch. There's a local haunted house attraction which is "no touching" (and is only open in the fall). The only other one I'd been to was back when I was in middle school, for a school trip, and that was also no touching.

Now that I think of it, I'm surprised none of the horror conventions I've been to have had a haunted house sort of thing going on, touching or no touching...

It's not the most common incarnation of the attraction, but it's worth it if you can find one. I don't much care for the electrocution, but I do like the grabbing, hair pulling, screaming, throat slitting, binding, crawling, and horror themes.

It's not like I'm really scared, it's more like I'm thrilled and on edge, but in a good way. I understand it's just a performance, but it's still pretty spooky when you're walking in the dark with a sack over your head.

I went to one on the east side of Dallas TX about 4 years ago.I had to sign a waiver and it was ok.The scariest part was running out the back through a butcher's ,there was like a 2 foot drop out the back door. That short fall scared me the most.
