Twitter DM when I noticed she was kinda cute and lived in my city

First date after a couple weeks, and that's all she wrote.

I walked home from school with her brother, and one day she walked home with us.

6 years later I married her.

I moved to a new city, I typed the city's name into the Tumblr search bar to look for hot girls, I messaged her, we started talking, organised to meet at a bar. That night I was going to just ghost on her and I was at the bus stop to go home, and was literally about to put my foot on the bus when she messaged me "are we still on for tonight?", I stopped, and said "yeah I'll see you at 6pm", turned around and went to the bar.

That was 6 years ago in 2 weeks. We got married in October last year. She said that if I actually got on the bus she would've never messaged me again. Funny though, because if she'd messaged me 30 seconds later, I would've already been gone.

My best friend was dating her sister. I went to their house to fix their parents computer and she kept coming in the room to check me out. Her sister found out she liked me, so her sister and my friend kept getting us to hang out until we got together.

That was just about 12 years ago now. We broke up for four years because I moved across the country and she wouldnt come with me. We kept in contact basically the whole time and neither of us really saw other people, so when I moved back home we got back together. Got engaged 3 months later, had a baby a year after that, and have our second daughter coming this summer.

Beautiful

Yeah. Crazy the things that had to happen for us to meet. I had to move at the right time, search the tag on the right night to see her post, her to message me at the right time on the night we organised to meet up, me to not actually ghost...

Sat in front of me in 9th grade Civics class. That room was always freezing so I let her wear my hoodie. I already knew from her friends that was was crushing on me hard and was looking for an out with her boyfriend. Her loser boyfriend got pissed she was wearing my hoodie and cried big loser tears in the stairwell and yelled at her. So she dumped him. I waited a week and asked her out.

He tried to hit me with a pick up truck, missed, and popped two tires on the curb. Then he dropped out of school and moved away.

That was over 18 years ago. O_O I never did get that hoodie back.

- When I was around 14 my friends and I used to mess around on this online shockwave game called Inklink. Basically Pictionary. You could privately message other players and we would basically troll them with stupid questions. Now and again I would add girls to my MSN contact list and not think about it.
- One night my best friend went on my MSN (he didn't have his own computer at home) and started talking to some of those girls. When he finally got his own computer he kept in touch with one of them
- Years later my best friend was in a bit of a rough place. I get a random message from one of my older MSN friends who I didn't know. She told me that my best friend was out in a park somewhere and was suicidal. We spent all night talking on MSN making sure he was safe. That got us talking and it turned out we had a lot in common and got along well. But she lived in Sydney and I lived in Brisbane
- We talked more and more over the next few months. Started becoming an everynight thing. Then we talked on the phone. I planned a trip to Sydney with my friends and said I could meet her for lunch or something. Those friends gradually dropped out. But I knew I needed to meet this girl and I wanted us to be a thing. So I still went.
- We have an amazing weekend together. I was in love. We kept visiting each other for a few years until I finally moved to Sydney
- Together for 11 years now, we're married and she's pregnant with our first child. A daughter we'll get to meet in November

I love Sydney. I needed the change and her family is basically all focused here. My Mum died a few years ago and Brisbane doesn't even feel like home anymore. I've also gone to so many cool experiences living here.

I wish the houses weren't so damn expensive though ugh. I'd live elsewhere for that reason alone. Well that and the traffic. I hate driving here.

Fair enough. It's probably the Melburnian in me that has that anti-Sydney bias.

Brisbane was where I moved to, from Melbourne, 6 years ago. I love Brisbane, wife and I just bought our first apartment the other month in Morningside, for $395k. I reference it in my other topic

Buu, Melbourne is still home, and I will always consider myself a Melburnian. Greatest city in the world.

You moved to Brisbane right at the perfect time. When I moved away Brisbane was dead! Even Southbank was dead on a weeknight. Now there's all this cool stuff like Eat Street and all of these cool fancy restaurants. I would move back but too much family here now!

I don't miss the heat though. We went back to Brisbane last year so my wife could go to a Taylor Swift concert and it was bloody ridiculous.

Thanks mate. I love our story.

I drifted away from that best friend but we reconnected after my Mum died and he came to our wedding. That's a nice little part of the story too.

The summer is disgusting. Even now it's still 27 degrees lol. But the nights are cooling down - don't need the AC on at night anymore.

Yeah - when I moved it was so quiet all the time, but it's growing really fast.

I work at Starbucks and I transferred to my current store back in December of 2016 after moving back home from out of state. There was this guy there who had been a regular customer for like, 8 years already. He introduced himself to me and we slowly got to know each other through small talk over the counter.

Apparently he told one of my coworkers (who's now my best friend) that he thought I was cute. She told me and I was so excited since I had never had a customer have a crush on me before. He was so cute and nice and I had no idea he was gay.

I got his number, asked him out on a date, and the rest is history. Just passed our two-year anniversary in Feb. :) We've already been living together for a year, and he joins me on my lunch break everyday. This is both of our's first real relationship and it's been an incredible experience. It's been rocky at times, of course, but I'm still super crazy about him. Most amazing person I've ever met.

Granted, he's 15 years older than me and on lifetime probation, but that's another story.

I was in town for only one day and decided what the hell I'll go on a date before I leave, so I messaged her on OkCupid.com

I was planning on living on the road being a climbing bum for that summer, and instead I moved in with her after 4 weeks. Four years later we got married
