Somewhere between 180 and 200 Bagon caught which finally got me my gold dragon medal, 12 shinies (best was 8-15-15) and 4 90%+ IVs including a perfect. I started catching all my backlogged encounters about a week later, and only saw three Clamperl. The only explanation is that I hit the 100 encounter limit without realizing it, and the rest of my Clamperl got deleted. I think the reason they dont want to cut the feature outright is because they know people might need to use it. For things happening in real life. Or in case where you complete a research thing by catching Pokmon, but now your box is full. If they hadnt recently implemented the 100 limit, then I wouldve thought it was mostly just to hold a few or something, instead of used to hold a bunch... Which might be why they didnt add a counter.
