As in, "would die for the company" kind of person. Our does and I feel a bit sorry for him.

He's always pulling shit like staying extra late, coming in on weekends, bringing in his home equipment to help with a job, etc. He even sometimes comes in on his days off just to get a bit more time in.

What really takes the cake for me is how there's been some discussion lately about how a certain section of the office needs painting. So lo and behold he came in today with all his personal paint gear (brushes, rollers, scrapers, sanding machine) and even bought the paint himself so he could do it. Today he said he would come back in on sunday to get it done. He has voiced no expectations of being reiumbursed for any of this and it was literally off the back of a water cooler conversation.

I don't know what his game is but if its because he thinks it looks impressive...man, our general manager just thinks he's a weirdo. Everyone does.

We had a guy like that. Total suck up and narc too. He would tattle on everyone for every little thing and the boss thought he was a loser for doing so. Then one day someone else got promoted over him and if was so devastating to his pride, he never got over it. He stopped doing all the sucking up and extra work and became a sad little rain cloud.

There's guy at my work like this. I like to refer to him as the "Executive Vice President of Pretending to be Important"
