while playing dragon quest 11, i realized that i simply dont have time for long ass jrpgs, not only because of stuff irl, but there are also too many great games out there. i also have this problem of losing interest on games where i take a little break, so if i start it, i cant play other games

ive always loved them and been playing them before any of you guys, i even play and finish non english ones, but now, im telling you, that i give up on them, im still going to finish dragon quest 11, but im no longer going to play other games that long anymore like the trails, tales, and disgaea series which ive always been planning to play. im still going to get the final fantasy and smt games though. but dragon quest series? fuck no i heard theyre all like 100+ hours just for the main story,

you can get done with the first two acts or the main game of dq11 in about 60 hours. the third act is where the real grind is. just put everyone on fight wisely for the basic enemies to speed it up

I hit that point around the time Final Fantasy 12 came out. I just remember about halfway though the game thinking "This isn't fun anymore, why am I playing these games?" Granted, I have still played plenty of JRPGs since then (Kingdom Hearts 2 shortly after, and I am currently playing through Final Fantasy 6 again), but that was the end of me really playing them seriously. Now I am lucky if I play one or two a year, if that.

I'm almost 70 hours in and still one act 1, I have (I think) 2 more orbs to go.

I'm exploring everything and hitting the casino for stuff like the lightning spear for Serena, and using the forge a ton. I feel a game like this isn't meant to be sped through so it doesn't feel like a slog at this point.

I also put Super Strong Monsters on which makes regular fights take a while too.
