Like if she was really awesome, smart, funny, into cool things, humble, classy, even if she was fat id definitely be interested.

But fat chicks are usually even louder, even more obnoxious and even more basic.

Knew a fucking cow who weighed as much as me and her waist was about twice the size of mine. One of the shittiest people Ive ever had the displeasure of meeting and she had borderline personality disorder to boot.

Nah

Being fat is a sign of instability and poor mental health.

However it's difficult to talk about what constitutes fat on CE because some people are convinced that super hot thick curvy girls are "fat". So this doesn't really apply to girls who actually have nice genes that distribute the fat correctly.

Lol its not a social issue and thyroid meds are prescribed very commonly so if youre fat and still have a thyroid problem, well youre stupid and lazy. Thats what it boils down to.

Thyroxine and triiodothyronine are cheap as dirt, literally cheaper than healthy food and fast food. Theres no excuse to be obese.

Anthropological? In a culture of excess most people have lost their innate hunger cues. Most people can't tell when they're actually hungry or full, and eat more out of habit. There's also a thing called mindful eating -- which is focusing your thoughts and energy strictly on eating and not other distractions. This is a big part of diabetes education, for example. Not eating as a family or unit, and doing things while you're eating causes people to overeat.
A departure from strict food cultures has caused plenty of people to not grow up learning how to cook well. You can make tons of jokes like "lol it's not hard to throw chicken in an oven and boil some broccoli" or whatever other ignorant thing CEmen would say -- but that's not something that's appealing to everyone.

Sociological and/or economic? Eating on the go -- a culture that doesn't emphasize eating as an event or gathering. A lack of food education, cooking education, food safety education, basic nutrition education. Conflicting information bombarding consumers. Food accesibility. A culture based on the virtues of "personal responsibility" (idiots like 100# CEmen grasping their Ayn Rand books close to heart) making it difficult to fund or promote social programs to help with education or food accessibility (Obama did so much in these areas and already tons of it is getting reversed). The idea of limited trunk space, especially in areas where people rely on public transportation. Public transportation routes. Grocers avoiding development in lower income areas. "Health food" being a boogeyman word in certain communities. Etc. Etc.

All of the psychological causes are being terribly oversimplified, too. Yes - disordered eating is an eating disorder.
But you're also ignoring eating as a means of coping, stress eating, etc. Eating for tons and tons of psychological reasons -- like people who have eating disorders where they'll only eat the same foods for comfort, people with autism not cooking themselves because they like the reliability and dependability of eating out (especially chains).

I studied food and nutrition and work in the field. Don't front about shit you don't devote your life to learning

1) lol eating out of habit. Easy solution, dont have shitty habits.

2) a culture that doesnt emphasize eating as an event or gathering Some valid points here, notably conflicting info bombarding consumers. Still though, it boils down to personal responsibility, many families eat dinner together and I always went to dinner in college with friends and dates are a thing. There is plenty of opportunities to enjoy food as a gathering in US culture.

As far as eating as a means of coping, theres plenty of other methods of coping that you could make a strong argument claiming theyre better than being obese. Like smoking or nail biting.

Theres plenty of people who arent obese who dont have perfect diets with minimal exercise so what other excuse is there left besides laziness and stupidity? It certaintly isnt a thyroid problem.

A lot of your other nonsense would take too long too explain, but this is easy: Low quality food is cheap, easy to get fat off of, and all the sugar and fat and carbs inside shitty food is addictive. If you're in a low income bracket, in an area where that's the average, you're also less likely to be educated on nutrition and coming from people who didn't know any better, and have taught you to eat shitty, too. On the off chance you get educated about health in that scenario, it's still very difficult to break that addiction.

There's a Boondocks episode about the other anthropological issues.

Yeah, no.

The low quality food is cheap, sugar and fats are addictive whatever. Thats horseshit. Its not nicotine or caffeine. Also lol its easy to get fat off of.

As far as lack of resources or knowledge yeah that sucks, but it doesnt take an Einstein to figure out that eating fast food 3x a time is a shitty diet that has a high chance of leading to obesity and other health problems. Boiling water or using an oven isnt rocket science either.

As long as you arent eating a ton of food meat and rice is fairly cheap. Good beef and fish are more expensive but pasta, potatoes, rice, frozen vegatables and chicken are all dirt cheap. Cheaper than fast food when 2lbs of chicken is $7 and its a weeks worth of meat for an average person. Cant really fuck this up except for laziness. Certain things also help like not grocery shopping at gas stations.

The only time when fast food in practice becomes cheaper than healthy food is youre unemployed, sleeping on couches and donating plasma for a living. You have $20 for the next three days and its cheaper to get two $1 McDoubles than spend $7 on a bag of chicken, $1 on a box of pasta, and have $12 left over for whatever else you need until you get money again.

The low quality food is cheap argument isnt applicable for someone making around minimum wage or $15-$20k a year. Lets not act like their only option is chips, donuts and soda at the gas station.

You know it's just going to look worse the further you go.

Says the guy who thinks certain foods make you fat easier and doesnt grocery shop for himself.

Ironic you say this as I provide concrete, very simple to understand examples as to how regular ass grocery store food isnt expensive and is cheaper than fast food or trash you would get at a gas station and the best you can do is pull the ya gonna need some sources, you wont be able to prove that card.

Its funny how this all started. I say being fat is because someone is lazy, not a thyroid problem, and a fat guy appears and proceeds to tell me it isnt his fault, its actually societys and you show up as the reinforcements. Lol.

"Anyone arguing x must be x themselves." C'mon, you don't recognize how stupid that is?

Go ahead. Just one source.

Yep! Let's just shut down public health organizations, eliminate any food accessibility or assistance programs -- quit doing any research. The solution is everyone is just "lazy and dumb!" What insight!

Edgelord has spoken! It's all THAT simple! Let's just approach the problem like a high school football coach in the 70s and just yell and shame people!
We've been so misguided as a society putting forth any effort doing anything else!

How fat are you?

I'm fat because I'm not willfully ignorant? Okay

Nobody said anything is solely society's fault. I just said you're an arrogant fucking moron if you think you can oversimplify a complex issue and disregard any efforts, progress, or research being done to assist in reversing it

As an unbiased 3rd party, Edge is making more sense.

You can tout how much you study nutrition or ask for sources all you want.

I too dont see how one becomes obese without stupidity being a factor. Literally just eat something else.
